An individual has a right to obtain from a data controller “…the erasure of personal data concerning him or her without undue delay…” where one or more of a number of the following applies:
1. the personal data is no longer needed for the reason it was first gathered;
2. the individual withdraws his or her consent for the processing and the data controller cannot identify any legal grounds to continue processing it;
3. the individual objects to the processing and the data controller cannot identify any legal grounds to continue processing it;
4. the individual objects to the processing of the personal data for direct marketing purposes;
5. the personal data have been unlawfully processed;
6. the data controller is legally obliged to erase the personal data;
7. the personal data has been collected in relation to the offer of information society services to a child (for example a social media platform used by a minor).
